❗️ From May 30, 2026, new rules for accounting for digital currency miners will come into force in Russia. Now the state registers of miners and mining infrastructure operators will include information about network IP addresses used for cryptocurrency mining.

❗️The changes were approved by government decree No. 556 of May 16, 2026. The Federal Tax Service of Russia remains the operator of the registers.

According to new requirements:

🤩 IP addresses must be specified when registering legal mining;

🤩 if mining is carried out through an infrastructure operator, the information will be reflected through the operator’s record;

🤩 the state will be able to more accurately monitor the actual activities of mining sites.

The authorities explain the initiative as the fight against illegal mining and increasing transparency in the industry. In fact, we are talking about a transition from simple registration of market participants to technical control of infrastructure.

At the same time, the document talks specifically about “network addresses”. Some industry media are already writing about the possible transfer of the IP addresses of each ASIC device, but there is no direct confirmation of this in the resolution yet. This information should be taken as an unconfirmed market interpretation.

🤩Experts note that new measures can strengthen control over energy consumption and Internet traffic of mining farms. At the same time, market participants have questions about working with dynamic IP, VPN and cloud solutions — no official explanations on these topics have yet been published.
