Ethereum's new future

Vitalik Buterin outlined the new future of Ethereum
🤩 Ethereum co-founder published a long post about the Ethereum Foundation’s strategy — and the main message is that Ethereum no longer wants to compete only with speed and cheap transactions.
What’s changing:
🤩 Ethereum Foundation will sell less ETH
🤩 The Foundation wants to play a smaller role in managing the ecosystem
🤩 Priority is long-term network sustainability, not infinite scaling
🤩 The focus is on censorship resistance, privacy, security and open-source infrastructure.
Vitalik directly stated:
“The race only for TPS and low latency is the path to mediocrity”
According to him, the strength of Ethereum should lie elsewhere:
⚡️ Resistance to control by states and corporations
⚡️ Minimization of intermediaries
⚡️ Development of privacy
⚡️ Independence of wallet and transaction infrastructure.
⚙️ Among the technical priorities:
• AI verification of code and smart contracts
• Stronger consensus
• Development of privacy
• Reducing the dependence of wallets on centralized servers.
Separately, Buterin noted:
The Ethereum Foundation controls only about 0.16% of all ETH
— significantly less than the funds of many other blockchains.
🤩 In fact, Ethereum is trying to secure its role not as the fastest blockchain, but as a “neutral layer” for the entire Web3.
